We have moved in, we have been painting, cleaning, getting rid of old furniture and finally, finally this place starts to look like the showroom we have been planning all summer!
Still, there's a lot to do (build a giant table!) but now, it's a workable office with internet connection, coffee in the kitchen and best of all - Full of Cloo Collection clothes! New samples for S/S2013 landed during this week and we are excited!
Today it was time to put up the sign that originally was bought for the CIFF Kids fair in February. It's plastic letters, cut out in the exact shape of the Cloo Collection logotype.
1. First of all, the styrofoam template had to be taped to the wall. To get a straight line, I pinned a needle to the wall, tied a piece of red thread to it, used a mason's level to check if it was straight, and then pinned the other end of the thread. Doing that, I didn't need to draw a line on the new painted wall.
2. Then, to get the letters to stick to the wall, I used small pieces of double-coated foam pads. On the back of the foam pads: a couple of hundred little pieces of paper that later ended up on the floor.
3. And from there, it was just to push the letters through the template and then carefully remove the styrofoam when everything was in place. (Here you can se the red thread!)
4. Our next task is to fix the lighting - Today the showroom is lit by one single lamp, autumn daylight and a building lamp that we bought for painting the walls..

Vi har flyttat in! Vi har målat, städat, gjort oss av med gamla möbler och äntligen äntligen börjar det se ut som det showroom som funnits i tankarna hela sommaren. Det finns fortfarande mycket som ska göras (bygga ett jättestort bord!) men nu är det ett fungerande kontor med internetuppkoppling, kaffe i köket och - bäst av allt - fullt med Cloo Collection-plagg! Nya prover för S/S2013 kom i veckan och det känns så fint!
Idag var det dags att sätta upp skylten som från början köptes till CIFF Kids mässan i Februari. Det är bokstäver i plast, utskurna i exakt samma form som vår fina logotyp.
1. Först av allt var mallen i frigolit tvungen att tejpas upp på väggen. För att få till en rak linje nålade jag fast en bit röd tråd, mätte med vattenpass, och nålade sen andra änden av tråden en bit bort. Då slapp jag rita ett streck på den nymålade väggen.
2. För att få bokstäverna att fästa på väggen använde jag små dubbelhäftande kuddar. På baksidan av kuddarna: hundratals små papperslappar som sen hamnade på golvet..
3. Sen var det bara att trycka bokstäverna igenom mallen och sen försiktigt ta bort frioliten när allt satt på plats. (Här syns den röda tråden)
4. Nästa uppgift blir att försöka fixa till belysningen. Idag är det en lampa, höstens dagsljus och en bygglampa som vi köpte inför ommålningen som lyser upp.
